Anemone is the result of Eurotoire: Equaliser aiming to break stereotypes and set new standards in the music industry.

The second album of Louvana Records’ songwriting programme, Eurotoire: Equaliser (EU:EQ), is the result of a coming-together of six producer-songwriters and their surrendering to the intimidating nature of creation. Six women, who also happened to be complete strangers, met up for the very first time to write and produce an album from scratch. A first glimpse to this project is their upcoming single ‘Terro Sangui’, a bold depiction of a woman’s experience in today’s day and age; replete with pressure, pleasure, restriction and retaliation.

EU:EQ kicked off in the fall of 2022 with its first residential session in Nicosia, Cyprus. After an open call, six selected artists of underrepresented genders from underrepresented European regions got together for the very first time to collaborate. The primary aim of the project was supporting such emerging talent, bringing them together in a safe environment and nourishing their creativity. As a result, the music industry could benefit from a more diversified workforce and begin to tilt the scale towards equilibrium. After reuniting for their second session, the six producer-songwriters did final recordings on the songs at Studio eleven63 and at the same time, the selected six music-media professionals (MMPs) joined the session in person to offer valuable input in the production and promotion of the album, as well as discuss the notion and social reasoning behind it. This coming-together showed how common elements such as music and gender identity can bring twelve complete strangers together. Twelve strangers who were initially looking to be understood and who left Cyprus with a newly-found purpose and community.
